From Paul Ainslie, Councillor of Ward 43

12D Kingston Road - the continuous bus route will be launched on October 9, 2018 with clear community support. Councillor Ainslie has been working with the community in petitioning and meeting with the TTC to add the continuous bus service for a number of years as well as several other arteries in our community.

During discussions with residents they continually raised that the lack of a continuous bus service along Kinston Road, the only east-west public transit route in the Scarborough Area caused undo delays. The 12D Kingston Road route will be a major welcome for all residents who will no longer have to deal with multiple transfers and will support local business.

I know my residents will be thrilled to be able to get from point A to B without transferring three times. I'm confident the pilot will a success and look forward to making life easier for the 1800 and climbing commuters who will be using the service every day.

The 12D Kingston Road will run along Kingston Road from Victoria Park Station to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, weekdays between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, with service scheduled every 30 minutes, and between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, every 25 minutes.

902 Markham Road Express - The new express bus service along Markham Road is starting in September 4, 2018. It will operate from Warden Station to Sheppard Avenue via Centennial College. Service will operate in the midday and peak periods, from Monday to Friday. Peak period service will be scheduled every 10 minutes and midday service will be scheduled every 15 minutes. The new express bus service will stop at major stops where customer demand is highest.

The 12D Kingston Road Route along with the express route on Markham Road and the new transit route into Bluffers Park that commenced this past May will help decrease traffic congestion in our community.
